i9300 wifi support using OpenFWWF
Added by Loic Dachary about 8 years ago
Hi,
Since the i9300 has a bcm4334 for wifi (via the Murata M2322007 WiFi Module), could OpenFWWF be used to replace the proprietary firmware extracted from cyanogenmod ? There already is (partial) specifications reverse engineered as well as tools to debug, assemble, deassemble. If they were good enough for researchers to implement 802.11aa a few years ago, in the firmware, maybe it is a way forward ?
I got interested is in this topic a few days ago, I won't be offended if you tell me this does not make any sense ;-)
Cheers

Data sheets have been released for a bunch of broadcom wireless chips: https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=Cypress-Publishing-Broadcom . Here is the 170 page document for the BCM4334 http://www.cypress.com/file/298706/download . ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
