Creating a Port for the Nexus 7 (2013)

Added by Mark Babatunde about 10 years ago

Replicant OS is something I've recently looked into and it seems like the best ROM to put on my new nexus 7. How do I start developing for it and are there any Youtube videos or links to get me started for developing the ROM on my device?

The system is called Replicant, not Replicant OS ;)

There is no current support for the Nexus 7, perhaps it was already evaluated on the forums. If you want to start the work on it, you're welcome to check our or DeveloperGuide and Replicant40PortingGuide even though you're going to work on 4.2, it remains quite similar. You're welcome to contact us for further information!

Thank you for responding! I'm going to try to bring Replicant on my device. Also, if I get it working on my Nexus 7, could I officially join the Replicant team?

First, you'll notice I'm very slow at responding. Sorry about that, I'm just very busy with studying and simply cannot do much aside from a few hours in the week-end these days.

Also, if I get it working on my Nexus 7, could I officially join the Replicant team?

Joining the team is not so much of a formal matter: get some work done and included in our repositories, be around often and you'll become a member of the team quite naturally!

Only the 2012 Nexus 7 uses Tegra 3, the 2013 model uses a Qualcom Snapdragon S4 Pro.
Wrong thread, was meant to go here.
