Nexus S bricked after installing replicant!!

Added by joyce joseph over 8 years ago

I just installed the latest version of replicant on my Nexus S device. It worked well until i restarted the device. Now it fails to power on. Sometimes it does start until the google logo and gets stuck. In short its hard bricked. Did anyone face the same issue with the installations. And can anybody suggest if there is a way out to unbrick the device from this situation.

P.S I have gone through the xda forums and other sites in search of unbricking the devices. However all those methods require the device to atleast boot into the download/recovery mode.
Thanks.

Did you follow the installation steps from the wiki (NexusSI902xInstallation)?

You should at least be able to boot into fastboot mode by holding the Volume Up and Power button. If the recovery was correctly installed, you should be able to select it there, boot into it and redo the installation. Otherwise you have to flash the recovery and do the rest of the steps described on the wiki. And don't forget to do a full wipe/factory reset.

Hope that helps!
