However, and taking into account Note 2 recovery isn't compiled yet, when you click on it

So please, provide such recovery.img.

Have you tried using the RC5 recovery to install the 0004 release?

If the RC5 images are signed with the same key as the release ones (which I think is a safe assumption), it should work.

For the Galaxy Note 2 (GT-N7100), you can use the 0004 RC5 instead of the 0004 especially because there is almost no changes between the 0004 and the 0004 RC5.

Then I'll make a new release later on after merging more modem related patches.

I added some information about this issue in the release notes¹. The release notes really need to be read before installing this new release (else you might loose access to your data if you are not installing Replicant from scratch).
