Well if your phone is A Galaxy S3, you should be looking at GalaxyS3Installation!

The error is very explicit here:

ERROR: Failed to open file "recovery.img"

That means you are not running heimdall in the correct directory. You should cd to the directory where you downloaded the images!

You need a certain background of knowledge about using the command line with GNU/Linux to perform these operations correctly:

In order to install Replicant on your device, it is assumed that you have a computer running a GNU/Linux operating system and everything necessary to connect your device to the computer through USB available. Moreover, it is assumed that anyone performing the installation knows how to use command lines in a terminal and has basic knowledge about it.
