Installation issues - samsung galaxy note II - TWRP does not like replicant or checksums
Added by Zenon T about 11 years ago
what I see with most guides, I seem to understand installing roms is simply this:
- install recovery
- get ROM
- Wipe Phone
- Install ROM
I figured since I got my own recovery, (Team Win Recovery Project), I figured I don't need to bother with linux and all that crap, just use TWRP...
nope, TWRP does not like replicant, Can't verify the checksum, even though I downloaded it and placed it with the ROM.
Now because of this I ended up installing Pac Rom only to find out that it doesn't like to connect to sane mobile networks (I have AT&T as my provider), so I decided I might as well get back to replicant, since I value my privacy.
What should I do to remedy this problem? Install a new recovery or is there a way I can use TWRP with replicant? I feel like I'm missing something simple that could've been solved easily.

As your provider is AT&T, is your model Samsung GT-N7105 Galaxy Note II LTE?
I think Replicant only supports N7100 model (http://redmine.replicant.us/projects/replicant/wiki) and I don't know if it's valid for N7105

well damn. I didn't know the AT&T model was the N7105 model, not the N7100...
well this both simplifies yet complicates things... looks like i'm gonna have to look up building replicant

N7105 is not supported at all, even if you build Replicant from source code. You might want to add support for it, (should be similar to n7100) but telephony won't work since we don't have any readily available QMI RIL. One would have to write that missing piece of software to have telephony and friends working.
