Installing Replicant on i9000 XXJVO

Added by Matt Griewel almost 10 years ago

Hello Forum

I'd really like to apply latest replicant to my Samsung Galaxy S1 i9000 XXJVO.

I've already rooted the device and left the gapps out of it...

Furthermore I applied Jellybean 4.3 (cm-10.2.0-galaxysmtd) on the device.

Anyway, I feel like I'm too stupid to install replicant and I just wanted to ask if someone could do it for me. I don't want to brick it and I'm not very skilled. (This should not be an excuse of lazyness)

My suggestion would be to send the phone to someone nearby me, preferably located in Germany.

Would anyone be interested in doing that favor for me?

Greetings!

Matt

The installation process for Replicant is more or less the same as CyanogenMod (see our detailed instructions to have a clear idea). To be very honest, I think you'll be wasting time and money sending the phone to someone else as the process is really not that complicated.

Since you've already installed CyanogenMod, you must have reflashed the pit already: that's the hard part that can cause a brick, but once this is done, the process is really straightforward.

You might want to get in touch with your local GNU/Linux user group if you really feel like you need assistance in the process.
