replicant on an mk802 and its clones

Added by robin p over 9 years ago

I recently bought an mk809, which is related to the mk802 by rikomagic [1]. I was initially going to put Debian on it, but wondered if Replicant would work. Has anyone here tried it on one of these devices? If not, any suggestions on how i might go about it?

Well, I just started the Allwinner port of Replicant 4.2 (nothing public yet) and in the long run, it should be possible to support these devices rather painlessly. Since it is not a mobile device, I won't purchase one to port Replicant to it, but having a generic port for Allwinner (which is my goal) would allow running on such hardware. Stay tuned, and maybe get involved to have the hardware officially supported by Replicant at the time we release installable images.
