Brand New Mint Galaxy S3 I9300 with Replicant 4.2 0003 For Sale

Added by Libertas Tech about 9 years ago

EDIT: $250 including worldwide shipping. PM me if interested.

Hi everyone, over the years I've had mixed success installing Replicant on various supported devices, including two resulting in bricks, so I know that it may not always go smoothly. So, I have a brand new mint condition Galaxy S3 i9300 (pebble blue) available for sale. It has not been used at all besides to install Replicant 4.2 0003 on it.

Ebay has shafted me in the past by allowing buyers to scam me through fraudulent returns so I am done with them. I would like to sell this item on a bitcoin market though it seems those are only really used on Tor/darknet. So I have it listed for $300 on a tor marketplace: abraxasdegupusel.onion/listing/73nZ0JI3xX
Here is a referral link to register: abraxasdegupusel.onion/register/uiL1wOB4nd

I am open to suggestions for other viable transaction methods though I'd prefer to avoid PayPal as I'm not a fan of it. Depending on if there's demand and if it can go smoothly I will increase supply. On a side note I have libreboot Macbooks (2,1) that I can prepare for sales as well.

Paul K.- I hope you don't mind me posting this here. I believe in Replicant as the best mobile OS, and want it to be more widely adopted, and am looking for interested consumers.

I don't have a problem with people selling Replicant devices here (even though this isn't a market place either), but I just want to make it very clear that the Replicant project has no liability in the transaction.

It may work if not one issue. How end user can confirm that firmware flashed to the device is unmodified replicant image?
Any way to reliably checksum bootloader / recovery / FW?

The best way is always to reinstall it. It may be hard to provide a reliable technical way to ensure that it wasn't modified.

In any case, it's not any worse than any other second hand device to use Replicant on.
