replicant stuck on boot screen

Added by Tom Lukeywood almost 9 years ago

i have installed cyagenmod 9(based on android 4.0)
and then replicant using cwm recovery

it booted up fine and displayed the replicant logo but after 10 minits it still did not boot and i have tried this multiple times
i check the images with md5sum and cleared all data after i installed replicant

my phone is a i9000 samsung galaxy s

and i have been following these instructions:
http://redmine.replicant.us/projects/replicant/wiki/GalaxySI9000Installation

dose anyone know why it might be doing this?

also i am using the 4.2 001 images instead of the 4.2 003 images as the 003 images gave a error while installing

I think you have to install Cyanogenmod 10.1 (4.2 based) before

Please provide logs (see GettingLogs) to help figure out the issue!

sorry for the very late reply

I tried installing cm 10.1 and then Replicant and it gives the same result as before

I tried running:
adb logcat -b output_file

but it just hangs at the - waiting for device -
message
it is connected to my computer and I can successfully run a side-load between my pc and i9000 phone
so the connection is fine

however I when using usb mass storage(using recovery mode)
i found these log files on the phone so i dont know if they will be usefull?

i have attached them to this post

any ideas?

ADB's -b option should indicate the buffer you need. Here since we want the main buffer, you can omit it. It's likely that ADB hasn't started yet if Replicant doesn't start though.

That makes it very hard to figure out the problem. Please make sure you have correctly wiped the data partition before you start the system, as instructed in the Replicant installation guide.

I don't see why the latest 4.2 images would show an error. Are you using the recovery image that we provide and are you following the instructions from the wiki?
