Which device should I buy for the best Replicant experience?

Hello, everyone!
I want a freedom-respecting Android device (running only free software), and I would also like the device to be legal to set up (in terms of DMCA, so that I wont have to bypass some crappy copy protection to install Replicant).
Which phone would you say fulfills the above requirements and works the best with Replicant at this time, and which phone is expected to work best in the soon future (say withing a few months or so)? What are the limitations?

Short answer: Galaxy S3 or Galaxy S2, both have the same status and it's easy to install Replicant on them and it doesn't require bypassing any security or so.
