Web browser: Which is a better alternative
Added by Jacob Bahn over 6 years ago
Apparently the built in browser as well as e.g. lightning pose some security/privacy issues.
Which would be abetter choice?
Is Firefox Klar a good alternative or does that pose similar issues?

I use Privacy Browser. It works very well with Replicant (no need for gpu acceleration like firefox). It disables Javascript by default, ads are blocked and privacy settings can be adjusted globally and/or for each website. It also has an option to route all traffic through Orbot.

9be42f24d3 cfcedda835, I am sorry to realise that I have totally forgotten to answer. Thanks for your recommendation. I have used Privacy Browser since.

Fil, the page and topic you link to seems outdated (?). There is a reference to Lightning, but Lightning has not been updated for about a year!

Firefox and Tor Browser should work using the experimental builds I linked to in this message: https://redmine.replicant.us/boards/9/topics/15211?r=15248#message-15248

I use duckduckgo browser, it's nice, and I trust them (the anti-features mentionned in F-droid must not be bad)
