Added by E D almost 9 years ago

Hello,

When being prompted for the encryption password at boot, the keyboard is "qwerty", is there any possibility to change it to "azerty" ?

Best regards

Hi E D,
you can you can select your language using azerty by default (french for instance) in settings -> language & input.

You can also use a language with a non-standard input, english with french azerty for instance (because azerty has small differences between countries using it).
You have to configure settings -> language & input ->[input keyboard & input methods]default/android keyboard (AOSP).
Then click on the setting icon and select "input language".
Unselect "use system language" and select the language you prefer into "active input methods".

Hello,

Thanks for the tip :-)

It did not help however because at this stage, when prompted for encryption password, the OS is not set up yet, still encrypted as far as I understand.

The keyboard for the encyption password prompt is in qwerty, then it becomes azerty as it has always been.

The (small) problem is the first one, I finally understood that you can modify it and turn it into azerty, press the "," key,
it soon pops up the system settings logo, press it and you discover the keyboard and language settings, BUT only for the encryption password prompting.

Thanks again.

Best regards.
