Bridging the mailing list and the forums?
Added by Denis 'GNUtoo' Carikli over 4 years ago
Hi,
Most or all the Replicant developers are not looking at the forums, and the
only person doing the link here is Khurtis, so many posts are probably unanswered because of that.
I've started a thread on the mailing list as well to gather thoughts on a potential
migration to tools that can unify the forum and the mailing list.
Denis.

I've been doing some research on https://sourcehut.org/
Here's an example of an archived mailing list thread: https://lists.sr.ht/~emersion/mrsh-dev/%3C20180804160231.32283-1-sir%40cmpwn.com%3E
I was thinking that if you could click "Reply to thread" while logged in and respond to posts in your browser that it would essentially be a forum that allows you to contribute via email extremely well, since it was built to support email first.
I think I'm going to ask Drew, the sourcehunt developer, if this is a feature that he'd be willing to implement.
If we end up moving away from redmine's wiki and forum, it seems like we should maybe look to transition away from redmine completely instead of keeping it only for the issue tracker.
