deleting a picture is impossible / Camera crashes

Added by Fil Lupin about 8 years ago

Hello,
I installed APhotoManager app as a manager for pictures on my I9000 Samsung galaxy S3.
I precise that I have installed a Replicant 4.2 0004 home-builded.

Issue:
However, when deleting a picture, the thumbnail still appears into stuck gallery app even if it disappears from APhotoManager gallery. Then clicking on the thumbnail into stuck camera crashes the app.
Moreover, when starting stuck camera, it crashes, probably because last picture was deleted with APhotoManager.

Hypothesis 1:
My though is perhaps there is a database or a cache which has not been updated.
I cleared the cache and data from APhotoManager and stuck camera but this issue is still there.
I do not know where to search for others locations.

Hypothesis 2:
I noted that into APhotoManager app info, Enable Privacy Guard was enabled but it was disabled into stuck camera. I wonder if it can be the cause of this issue?
APhotoManager seems to have the good rights to delete a picture
Actually, rights of APhotoManager are :
- approximate location (network-based) and precise location (GPS and network-based)
- modify or delete the content of your SD card
- full network access, view network connections, view Wi-Fi connections
- test access to protected storage
Stuck camera has following rights:
- read your text messages(SMS or MMS), receive text messages (WAP)
- take pictures and vidos
- record audio
- precise location (GPS and network-based)
- modify or delete the content of your SD card
- full network access, view network connections
- run at startup
- prevent phone from sleeping
- set wallpaper
- interact across users, modify system settings, test access to protected storage
I though perhaps this is due to some rights issue...

Do you have any idea of how to solve this?
Thank you

PS: I opened an issue there http://redmine.replicant.us/issues/1749 but since it seems tickets are not used, I open a subject here.

I've tried APhotoManager some time ago and I didn't like it. I use Gallery instead. It works pretty well

Thank you for your answer Xan VFR, I'll look for it to replace APhotoManager.

However, it will not solve my issue since camera and stock gallery apps still do not work, probably because of the erasing of the last picture.
I first would like to find a "cure" to this issue which does not allow me to use camera and decrease the usability of stock gallery...
Do you have any clue where to search a solution either to completely erase last picture or get it completely back?

Stock gallery app doesn't work anymore and there are no plans to replace it, so I use Gallery app

Haven't experienced the camera crash because I've been using Open Camera which I like more.

Don't know if Replicant 6.0 will solve this issues.

I'll try Open Camera to check if this could solve my issue.
Thank you for the suggestion.

Hi, thank you again for your suggestion, Open Camera does not has the same issue and works.
I assume this is because Open Camera does not has a preview functionnality (at least by default).

However, even after taking a picture, stock Gallery app does not view the new pictures taken with Open Camera and, probably because the last picture viewed by stock Gallery is the same (the one I had deleted) stock Camera app still crashes when launched.
