Replicant 6.0 on Galaxy S2 sdcard0 corrupted, can't be formatted.

Added by Lux Tenebris almost 7 years ago

Hello, I recently installed Replicant 6.0 on my Galaxy S2 and have hit a snag, there is no useable storage as sdcard0 is reporting as corrupted under Storage & USB and when I try to erase and format it it brings up an error.

command '19 volume partition disk:179_0 public' failed with 400 19 command failed

Any ideas on what could be causing this and how to fix it?

Thank you.

Oh, also it was encrypted before I wiped it, however I have done several wipes both from Android itself and the recovery, all to no avail unfortunately.

This issue was already reported and discussed in the development thread. To cite myself:

you could try the following:
  • Install LineageOS and check if the issue is there, too.
  • Do some research (e.g. enter the error message into your favorite search engine) and report back if some of the solutions that turn up work.

Please open a new issue about this with the results. Including logs from the main buffer and kernel (dmesg) as explained in GettingLogs after formatting with Replicant 6.0 would also be very helpful. Please also include a kernel log after doing a wipe in the Replicant 6.0 recovery.

Thank you for giving me possible ways to resolve this and work with you to attempt to solve this. Unfortunately it is my main phone and as such I cannot keep going through reinstalls of various ROMs and resetting up of apps I need (and asking others to toggle things on and off etc) as it is my main source of contact with others and they might tire of this.

I think I did already search but to no avail, though I will keep looking.

However, I can do things like the dmesg/kernel log dump when attempting to format etc and will get back to you asap with a new Issue on the tracker.

Thing is, I would format/fsck it using the built-in terminal app, however, I don't know the device name in /dev.
