S2, writing rights on an external sdcard

Added by André Ockers almost 5 years ago

Dear reader,

After formatting a sdcard to ext4 and giving it a recognizable name, I inserted it into my S2 Replicant.
After some searching in file manager Amaze I found the sdcard under a very long set of characters under /storage.
I wasn't allowed to change this long folder name and I wasn't allowed to make a folder in it.
So how do I get writing rights on my sdcard?

This might be an issue with the file manager app, Amaze, that you are using.

Can you confirm that you have the same issue with the default File Manager app?

Hello André,

Can you try formatting the SD card as exFAT instead of ext4 to see if that resolves the issue? If it does, then I think we may have found a bug because ext4 should work just fine.
