Replicant's Browser doesn't seem to be saving passwords

I'm trying to get Replicant's Browser to save a password of a website I'm making, but even thought the "Remember passwords" is enable in the browser's settings, it doesn't appear to work.
I notice that form entries are not saved when .ajax is used with jquery on forms so I decided to use the browser's native form submission. Unfortunately even though the rest of the form entries are shown, passwords are not.
I tried some other websites but I'm getting the same result. Does anybody know what could be the problem? I believe that the Remember Passwords setting is set by default. Could some one test it and tell me if it's only me?
I wonder if it's a html syntax matter.
