[Replicant 6.0 0004 RC1, i9300] Phone crackles when calling

Added by Amazir CHAOUCHI about 4 years ago

Hi. I'm a new Replicant user (installed Replicant 6.0 0004 RC1 on a i9300 today).
I hear almost nothing when calling somebody or receiving a call, due to a constant crackle.
Note : That does not appear when calling somebody in the same room as I am.

Installation went well.

I'm not used to explain/describe issues in english. Tell me if you need more informations, or if something isn't clear enough.
I'll be please to help you help me. :)

Thank you.

Hi,

I got similar case for some connections.
Switching in options from 3G to 2G solved issue.
Despite swithcing to 2G using Signal or K9-mail is still acceptable.

Andrew

Thank you Andrew ! That was quick and it seems to work well now.
Do you know why it is so ?

How am I supposed to install Signal or K9 if F-droid isn't available ? I found this on the roadmap page about F- droid. ( https://redmine.replicant.us/issues/1629 )

I find the Replicant project really useful and would like to help but I don't know where help is needed and how to participate. If you know how I could do that, it would be nice. Otherwise, I'll search when I get more time.

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

I am glad it helps. It was mentioned on forum one or two times. Somebody event provided informatorom about some code fix im lionage repository that could fix it on Replikant too. It requires some C code experience to at least analize and build Replikant from source code.

Regarding signal You can download IT from signal web page and install after allowing installation from external/non trusted sites and the same You can do with f-droid. Then other applications You can install from f-droid directly

Andrew
