Mail apps

Added by Daniel Alsace almost 4 years ago

Hello,

I don't find any good mail app, not bloated, useful, practical…

K9 Mail was the less worst, but recently it stopped to work.

https://github.com/k9mail/k-9/issues/5176

Now I use the default replicant system mail app, which is weird! (I can't see old messages, set some kb limit to avoid too much data comsumption, to save attached files in a folder…)

I have no issues with K9 mail 5.731 and Replicant. Although i am using replicant 6.0.0004 (RC) which changed the way it renders the image on the screen and improved compatibility with many apps. You could also try manually enabling llvmpipe but it is very slow on 0003.

I prefer to wait for the next version (replicant 11?)

Thank you very much!

RE: Mail apps - Added by Daniel Alsace almost 4 years ago

Hello,

The 5.400 version of K9 Mail works well, no crashes.

Download of attached files work too, with the replicant default download manager.

RE: Mail apps - Added by Emmett Brown almost 4 years ago

You can also use FairEmail which is a fork ok k9-mail
It works well for me

RE: Mail apps - Added by Daniel Alsace almost 4 years ago

Thank you!

First it freezed.

But when I insisted it started to work!

To download attached files I use long click on attached file, and Save to app,

RE: Mail apps - Added by Daniel Alsace almost 4 years ago

After some test, I lost my configuration, didn't find my mails, and now the app crashes very often…

I uninstalled FairEmail, and back to K9 mail 5.400… which works.

(today I made adb logcat for some apps… I'm lazy to logcat again for FairEmail…)

(androïd seems like quicksand… sylpheed or claws-mail don't have these problems)

The developper of FairEmail answered:

Okay, so there is more than enough storage space.

I haven't seen this error message before. My guess is that Replicant is
somehow responsible for this.

Looking at the error message, the database might be corrupted somehow.

Also, the locale (language, etc) seems to be inconsistent. Is the Replicant
instance maybe using the same database?
