Redmine Replicant - Feature #2312 (Rejected): Remove sharing capabilities of browser and camera applicationshttps://redmine.replicant.us/issues/23122022-02-26T19:30:04Z_I3^ RELATIVISM

Suggested by user_1 in IRC

Replicant should remove support for the "share" feauture on browser and camera applications coming from upstream. Given said feature depends on contacts among other things. therefore for privacy reasons and a matter of decreasing attack surface. This "share" feature should be removed.

If "share" is to be preserved a good compromise would be to implement atestation to contacts codebase, something done in some privacy focus messaging apps, therefore main CPU will not have direct acess to said dat.

In https://redmine.replicant.us/projects/replicant/wiki/DeviceStatus

So the replicant status page, port should be updated to replicant 11 instead of 10, accoring to latest roadmap
Replicant infrastructure - Issue #2306 (Feedback): Migrate our redmine wiki to Markdown formathttps://redmine.replicant.us/issues/23062022-02-02T13:06:27Z_I3^ RELATIVISM

https://www.redmine.org/issues/32424

According to this issue Markdown works well now on Redmine. Now,
so to facilitate migration efforts to mediawiki we might want to implement this on our instance if it isnt already, so the is a common format between wiki and issues among other problems that may derive from such devergences.

A derivative of Markdown, maybe CommonMark should be implemented on Replicant Redmine instance.

The use of the word main does not make a procamation to hyerarchical structures.

Replicant has a project should try to use the term main instead, Is also much more intuitive given it is subentended that it is the main source code branch

The theeming of the replicant redmine instance should be improved

First to fluently work with the website, using some collour palet, branding assets etc
And then it would make the experience for new users much better.

This would also increase contributions if it is easier to use our infrastructure section of the project

References
plan.io is a great example of this, and how theeming can exponentially improve redmine usage

Replicant project should have a replicant group account ,

when reporting issues in upstream issue tracker, so they know it is comming from us.
I think it would help with faster bug resolution not to speak that it would make needed comments easier to be replied as well given there would be more then one person on the matter

Add feature to make it possible for users to do TODO list with checkboxes

BACKGROUND:
There was some talk to include this on textile format, it never lead to somewhere though sadly

SOLUTION:
1. we could use a markdown styled format has a default that allows this.
2. if remaining with textile is prefered then one could use a plugin for redmine
https://www.redmine.org/boards/3/topics/4070
https://github.com/dalyons/redmine-todos-scrum-plugin

Change configuration in our Redmine instance to permite that issue creators/authors have the rights and permissions, to edit both title and description when issue are created, or at least the days following the issue creation, so things are more easy to track instead of contributors needing to add things as comments.
Replicant - Issue #2296 (In Progress): Improve package libsamsung-ipc for Parabolahttps://redmine.replicant.us/issues/22962022-01-26T08:58:20Z_I3^ RELATIVISM

Packages are needed for the 3 FSDG distributions (maybe 4 given this package might work on hyperbola as well) that are actually based on source code and not git for PARABOLAgnulinux.

Use git based package as a reference.
Cheers Irelativism
Replicant - Issue #2208 (New): Improve logos/theming on the bottom of mailing list web interfacehttps://redmine.replicant.us/issues/22082021-01-20T18:46:31Z_I3^ RELATIVISM

Improve logos/theming on the bottom of mailing list web interface

"For new nontechnical-users, which is probably the targeted audience here, it can be a drawback to have such poor representations on the bottom of such web-interface.

For example to have animal figure, that they don't understand it is the logo for a project like GNU, and a really bad and antiquated mailman and python logo, can be quite a repellent. Also right now there isn't any reference to the project itself that uses such mailing list. Something like such should be possible given each mailing-list has a dedicated page if not wrong.

I don't know what distribution you are using? but If its Parabola/Debian I would probably replace gnu logo with such, make the second an updated python one, and leave the 3rd for a custom project logo like replicant.

Any feedback or corrections are appreciated. And will look in to how other projects like Debian did this. Cheers"

So as an example for this list would be something like this:

instead of:
