The Replicant 6.0 0004 system image zip file for n7100 is corrupt.
Replicant - Issue #2336 (New): No cellular network when backup and restore userdata.imghttps://redmine.replicant.us/issues/23362023-07-02T12:10:40Z59iosl30 -

I tried to migrate to another GT-I9300 as described here: [[https://redmine.replicant.us/projects/replicant/wiki/BackupTheDataPartition]]

When I did a full backup of /dev/block/mmcblk0p12 on the source GT-I9300:
$ adb pull /dev/block/platform/dw_mmc/by-name/USERDATA ./USERDATA.img

The target device GT-I9300 is fresh installed and resetted to factory defaults.

After restoring USERDATA.img:
$ adb push USERDATA.img /dev/block/mmcblk0p12

Everything works except the mobile network. The sim card is detected and can receive sms messages, but there is no cellular network when:
$ svc data enable

If I do a full factory reset on the target device, the cellular network works again. How do I get the cellular network working again after restoring the USERDATA.img ?
Documentation - Issue #2329 (New): Outdated build documentationhttps://redmine.replicant.us/issues/23292023-01-18T19:31:10ZJohn R

I have been struggling to build Replicant 6 as described in the current documentation because I could not find any other way to make changes to sepolicy.

I followed the instructions given here:

https://redmine.replicant.us/projects/replicant/wiki/GenericReplicant60Build

In dependencies installation:

https://redmine.replicant.us/projects/replicant/wiki/Replicant60BuildDependenciesInstallation

I see Debian 9 (stretch) - an old, discontinued OS. I used Debian 11 in a VM. The `repo sync` took many many hours - a whole 34 GiB were downloaded. Unfortunately, some of the dependency packages don't seem to exist on Debian 11: eclipse-jdt, libandroidsdk-ddmlib-java, libandroidsdk-sdklib-java and one more. Also, there is no 'llvm-defaults', there is llvm. I think there were some other differences too. The given commands also don't work literally - I had to install the packages one by one. Pasting the whole lines from the doc didn't work. Anyway, I tried my best to set up this environment.

Then, in step 'Building the toolchain':

https://redmine.replicant.us/projects/replicant/wiki/GenericReplicant60Build#Building-the-toolchain

I ran:

./vendor/replicant/build-toolchain

The process starts but fails with a linker error somewhere at 4% (something related to LLVM, IIRC). I looked all over the web for this error but couldn't find a way to fix it. The "self-contained version or repo" didn't work either. Even `make clobber`, `make clean` and `make tcclean` don't work (errors).

I hope someone can update the docs, so one can build Replicant using an up-to-date OS.
Upstreaming patches - Issue #2326 (New): Review Linux 6.0 userspace firmware related changeshttps://redmine.replicant.us/issues/23262022-11-08T14:30:12ZDenis 'GNUtoo' CarikliGNUtoo@cyberdimension.orgReplicant - Issue #2324 (New): Recovery image for n7100 missing from ftp-osl.osuosl.org?https://redmine.replicant.us/issues/23242022-10-23T03:36:24ZMichele Dall'Arno

It seems the recovery files recovery-n7100.img and recovery-n7100.img.asc are missing from the directory:

Apologies if this has already been reported or if for some reasons it is intentional.
Replicant - Issue #2323 (New): Galaxy NOTE 2 N7100 instalation and letter ussage bughttps://redmine.replicant.us/issues/23232022-10-09T18:00:49ZSteve Green

I want to share 2 problems I have faced when installing the Replicant 6 on Note 2 and later problem when using it.

1) Problem - I was not able to install properly the zip. Only after few times repeating the same command to install the replicant zip to the phone it somehow installed. Don't know how is happened - I am not the very tech guy. But important detail is that is was giving the error message firstly directly after command was written in the terminal, then at 43% of installation, then at 60% and then at 90%. Finally it got installed. The error text was:

E:footer is wrong
E: signature verification failed

2) After using it for some days I switched off and left my phone with low charge. When I took it after few days and charged it a bit and then tried to open, the red Replicant logo displayed and nothing happened then. After discovering the forums I have found at least 3 people with the same problem on the same device. So I cane to conclusion that there is something wrong with code on this very device. I might be wrong of course.

I ask somebody to help me with this issue and if required to solve the optimization for this device problem. Hope my report will be useful for the community.
Replicant - Issue #2321 (New): First installation: cannot reboot to normal from recoveryhttps://redmine.replicant.us/issues/23212022-09-05T15:11:41ZDenis 'GNUtoo' CarikliGNUtoo@cyberdimension.orgReplicant infrastructure - Issue #2318 (New): Switch to more simple IRC bridgehttps://redmine.replicant.us/issues/23182022-04-26T11:35:36ZDenis 'GNUtoo' CarikliGNUtoo@cyberdimension.orgReplicant - Issue #2314 (New): Review AOSP mainline for code reuse and coperationhttps://redmine.replicant.us/issues/23142022-02-26T23:37:07ZDenis 'GNUtoo' CarikliGNUtoo@cyberdimension.orgReplicant - Issue #2308 (New): Update wiki article information from replicant 10 to 11?https://redmine.replicant.us/issues/23082022-02-08T00:47:07Z_I3^ RELATIVISM
