Could you explain what this would fix or what would be the consequence of having the modern selector?
This feature request is currently referenced in Tasks and I think it should be explained more what it is about.

ReplicantWallpapers still works with Replicant 6.0.

Should we keep this issue for Replicant 6.0?

If the modern selector introduces a dependency on EGL features that can't be handled by the software renderer, then this wouldn't make sense.

I'll remove this issue from the Tasks page until these questions are clarified.
