I would suggest Asus because lots of their mainboards are already supported by Coreboot.

If we would like to support a OLPC concept look at Lenovo A1900 which is one of the cheapest multilanguage smartphones.

Please move this discussion to the Devices evaluations forum. The purpose of the forum is exactly this kind of discussion.

Please also go through the guidelines for suggesting a new device before suggesting a device.

I agree that besides evaluating devices for freedom, labor conditions should also be considered if possible. There is a continuing interest in these issues in the Replicant community, see e.g. the GTA04 or the efforts to get the Fairphone supported by Replicant.
