Issue #1731

Description
It seems you can't edit only the last message.
For example, I can not edit message 2 in http://redmine.replicant.us/issues/1713
Moreover, when editing the last message, the content of textbox does not contain the edited message.

Could be useful to allow to delete a message (for instance 3rd message of http://redmine.replicant.us/issues/1713#note-3)

In fact, the button said edit/update, but it is a reply button.

It looks like it's possible to grant these kind of permissions to users in the administrator interface.
Paul, is there a reason that these two permissions ("Delete own messages" for forums and "Edit own notes" for the issue tracker) are disabled for "non member" users?

- Status changed from New to Closed
- Resolution set to fixed
It should be possible now to edit own issue notes.

In fact, one can edit answers but the initial post of an issue can not be edited.
This issue should be re-opened.

This is a limitation of Redmine. There is no option to allow users to edit the descriptions of their own issues. Only project members can edit issues in general (including the description). It's probably better like this because it can become very confusing for developers if users start to modify the description so that the issue becomes about something completely different.

Ok, I understand.
