closedGT-N7100 Screen Goes Black when Making a Call

Hello, Replicant! I'm a new user, and my experience with Android and smartphones in general is almost NIL. I bought the phone refurbished from Tehnoetic, and while the phone arrived in great shape, I've noticed that when I make a call, the screen will just go dark, and the only way to get it back is to double-press the screen-lock button on the right. This interferes with my ability to hang-up from calls, and to use the onscreen-keyboard.

I suggest you get in touch with Technoethical's support service.
I'm sure they can guide you through troubleshooting..
Totally speculating on that, but: it may be an issue with the proximity sensor..

I believe that this is related to the proximity sensor on Dustin's device being partially or fully covered (perhaps with the Technoethical sticker), or it is a hardware issue with the sensor.
I'm going to close this issue since there have been no reports of this happening to other users and is likely not related to Replicant's code.
