We currently embed the dtb inside the image, so we currently have one kernel image per device.
Using u-boot in the KERNEL partition would enable to detect which device it runs on (through GPIOs and various hints) and define that and then we could use the DISTRO_BOOT configuration to make it pick the dtb corresponding to the device.
This would enable the same image to potentially run on many different devices that are supported by the Replicant kernel.
