Description

Hi there!

I just tried to install the latest Replicant (Replicant 6.0 0003) on my Nexus. I chose the following option to copy the image because the Nexus has no SD card.

"using a computer, and USB cable and the command line to do the installation"

Twice, the copy process froze at 47%. Does anybody knows help for this particular case?

Is it possible to use adb push instead of adb sideload?

Hello Stefan,

I'm sorry that you are having problems installing Replicant. I'm not exactly sure why you are having that issue, but an alternative way that I believe you could install Replicant is by putting the Rom in the root directory of a usb and then connecting it to your phone with an OTG adapter. Do you have an OTG adapter or easy access to one?

Cordially,
Kurtis

Hi Kurtis,
thank you very much for the OTG hint. I do not have one at hand but try to get hold of it and get back with my experience. In the meantime I like to discuss an idea. I was surprised about the size of Replicant. Can not enough space on the mobile be the reason for the process aborting at 47%? Do you know how I can clean up my mobile in the recovery mode? I can not power on the mobile into normal OS mode.

Hi Stefan,

The steps in the installation process should have already cleaned up your device. Did you miss these steps?

Wipe the storage volume partitions

To ensure that the new partitions are formatted correctly, you must wipe the existing partitions.

Wipe system partition

To wipe the system partition, from the recovery main menu:

  1. Select Advanced.
  2. Select Wipe system partition.
  3. It will ask you to confirm the wipe, so you will need to select Yes to confirm it.
  4. Press the back key to get back to the recovery main menu.

Wipe cache and data partitions

To wipe the cache and data partitions, from the recovery main menu:

  1. Select Factory reset.
  2. Select Wipe data (keep media).
  3. It will ask you to confirm the wipe, so you will need to select Yes to confirm it.
  4. Press the back key to get back to the recovery main menu.

Cordially,
Kurtis
