This could clarify a lot the installation instructions and remove some common misunderstanding:
We could explain that:- To install a recovery image, heimdall (or fastboot) is a software that sends it to the to the bootloader which speaks a specific protocol.
- The recovery image is just an installer, just like a Trisquel iso, so like the Trisquel iso, it's a mini-operating system (so with a Linux kernel, a graphical interface etc).
If done right, it could clarify things a lot.
If done wrong it would confuse even more users as they wound't understand that part and be completely confused.

There is already a page explaining what is a recovery image somewhere.
It might be interesting to add multiple definitions in the same page, to enable people to learn them all at once if they want to.
That might be useful for people wanting to contribute to Replicant for instance.
We could also add a text at the beginning of the installation instructions to encourage people to read some very basics definition to better understand the installation procedure.
