Was discussed a bit in our forums here: https://redmine.replicant.us/boards/27/topics/39?r=15709

Has a removable battery and 1GB Ram.

We still need to determine if the NovaThor U8500 has a signed or unsigned bootloader and whether it has good modem isolation. This post suggested that it doesn't have good modem isolation: https://redmine.replicant.us/boards/27/topics/39?r=10155#message-10155

Has a Mali-400 GPU

  • Target version changed from Replicant 11.0 0001 to Any Replicant version with an upstream kernel

Since the modem doesn't look isolated, we won't build official images for that device.

However we can still accept patches for it, and if the code is clean enough, we could even maintain them.

We could make it trivial for people to fork Replicant and build official images for the fork.

For instance we already host part of our infrastructure (like git, DNS, emails), and we already
provide repositories for people, and Redmine supports having multiple projects on the same instance.

Though I don't have good ideas for which name to use for a fork like that.

Since we didn't get any patches yet for that I'm moving it in the Target version.

We also need to add that info to the wiki at some point as knowing the upstream status of various device is important.
