Description

Replicant project should have a replicant group account ,

when reporting issues in upstream issue tracker, so they know it is comming from us.
I think it would help with faster bug resolution not to speak that it would make needed comments easier to be replied as well given there would be more then one person on the matter

It would be easier just to state why we need the bug to be solved and/or somehow find ways to mention Replicant in the bug report if this is relevant somehow.

Examples:
  • While adding support for the Galaxy SIII (GT-I9300) on Replicant (a 100% free software distribution), we found out that WiFi didn't work.
  • To make Replicant releases (Replicant is a 100% free software Android distribution), we needed to ship a more recent repo tool [...] and we used guix pack, but we were unable to produce the corresponding source code [...].
  • We found a bug in [the touchscreen driver], and we need it fixed for Replicant (a 100% free software Android distribution)

And even if your goal is not to get upstream to help you better, sometimes mentioning why you solve a bug is relevant to show that the bug is real, and also to explain how to reproduce it or how it affects you.

Here's a real example: https://listas.trisquel.info/pipermail/trisquel-devel/2021-September/001206.html , the commit has the following explanation:

This problem isn't theorical as we need Java 8 to build Replicant 6.0
under Trisquel 9, but we also need proguard to work.
