Description

the script at ReplicantUSBNetworking doesn't seem to work for my galaxy s2.

i noticed that 'ip addr' doesn't list rndis0 as an existing device, unless i have normal usb tethering enabled though the system settings. disabling usb tethering makes the interface disappear again.

i don't need this script to work for me, but i just want to put this out there.

i think i also had some issues with needing to reboot the phone or my laptop whenever i ran one of the scripts? i can't remember.

also, i noticed that adb mode, usb tethering, and usb flash drive mode cannot be enabled when any one of the other is. i don't know if that's particular to the galaxy s2 and could block this script from working too.

I tried to do the same thing on Android and specifically I wanted it to work for app store communication as well (which most solutions I've seen don't) and the solution I settled on is this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2211363

Relevant differences seem to be that in my version you should have the normal data connection active when you begin the setup process and you should definitely turn on "USB Tethering" in your Settings menu. Give my guide a try and let me know if it gets things working for you.

This was added to the Tasks. We are waiting for someone to work on it.

Well, new scripts are in place and work well.
