Description

There has been some fixes to macloader, affecting Wifi on more recent S3's, which are fixed by this merge request:

That seems fine with me, but what exactly is the problem without these patches?

What is happening (without the updated macloader or manually writing /data/.cid.info) is that the phone connects to wifi, but fails to get an IP address. I don't know how the network system works, but it seems macloader should write the name of the wifi firmware to /data/.cid.info and something else is reading that. On my S3 with newer MAC addresses, macloader cannot identify the firmware, so it doesn't write anything -- and something is failing later on.
